Queer Filipinx Ginhawa: Reclaiming Health & Wellness Amidst Historical Turmoil, Intergenerational Conflict, and Times of Uncertainty
Date & Time
Selected Sessions:
Mar 24, 2025 03:00 PM
Description
There is much turmoil, conflict, and uncertainty in these modern times. Protracted warfare, climate disaster, rampant houselessness, political chaos, let alone the conflicts that arise in our personal relationships, work, and families. On top of all this, historical traumas (such as colonization, patriarchy, and racism) have long disrupted our communities’ generational ties to our own cultural legacies of resilience. Often, it feels difficult just to take a deep breath or feel grounded. In this session, we will talk story about the complexity and gift of living in the intersection of being Filipinx & LGBTQ+. We’ll learn accessible, effective wellness practices that can help cultivate our resilience and health in daily life. We’ll make connections to our legacies of survival that can illuminate our strength and compassion, as initial steps in breaking out of the cycle of intergenerational trauma. All are welcome!
